Perfect Pitch

Perfect Pitch is aimed at connoisseurs who seek comprehensive, interdisciplinary knowledge related to the OPERA’s productions and individual works. Alongside Codebreaker, deeper analysis and cross-artistic connections and contexts are offered here, as the series – created in co-production with MűGond – consists of three online lectures per instalment, each 30 minutes long, guiding interested viewers further in their exploration. The in-depth interpretive video course, led by music historian Dániel Mona and comparative literature scholar and theologian Dr. Márton Hoványi, is also available on the OPERA’s YouTube and Spotify channels. The episodes feature not only musical and literary analyses of the given work, but also contributions from individuals relevant to the production, such as directors, conductors, singers, and stage professionals. The video courses are produced inhouse, and episodes are expected in connection with every main-stage premiere in the current season as well. The programme’s greatest strength lies in its ability to offer calm, reasoned reflection through a direct confrontation with the present. Here, as in Parsifal, time truly becomes space.
