Freddie De Tommaso
Details
In Brief
What could be more exciting than opening the 2026 edition of Stars' Recitals with Piano with a recital by a singer whose rise to stardom we have witnessed firsthand? Tenor Freddie De Tommaso became famous in December 2021, when he stepped in at a London performance of Tosca to save the show by singing Cavaradossi at the age of 28, after the scheduled lead fell ill. The press declared at the time that a new star had been born. In addition to Cavaradossi, the singer has portrayed numerous tenor roles from the operatic canon, from Otello to Pinkerton to Don José, while also dazzling audiences with song recitals from time to time – just as he will now do in Budapest.
