With the opening of the Eiffel Art Studios, Hungarian musical life gains a new venue in the 2020/21 season. It gives the opportunity for the revival of older concert traditions. On 22 October, the once popular genre of song recital is renewed at the Miklós Bánffy Stage featuring soloist Klára Kolonits.
As the Opera is not simply a concert hall but a theatre as well, the songs are connected with other forms of art. Students of the Puppetry Department of the University of Theatre and Film Arts create a special performance to a chosen excerpt on these afternoons making them unique.
On 22 October, from 4:00 p.m., dramatic coloratura soprano Klára Kolonits, Chamber Singer for the 2013/14 and 2018/19 seasons makes a selection of songs by Sergey Rachmaninov composed to poems by Pushkin, Blok, Hugo and Musset accompanied on the piano by Bálint Zsoldos. The programme features an instrumental piece, Vocalise enhanced by the performance of puppetry student Klaudia Gardenö.
In the continuation of the series, audiences can see Éva Bátori in November and Judit Németh in December. The song recital with József Mukk originally advertised for 25 October is postponed to a later date.
